I'm Chris Mulligan, a freelance recording engineer and musician in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I have over 10 years of experience recording and working with bands. It all started when I was recording demos with two cheap microphones for my first band and since then I have been driven to getting the best sound from any recording session.
I have been working with lots of bands and musicians ranging from Pop, Grunge Rock and Electronic music. Recordings I have worked on have been played on Radio 1, 6 music and BBC Introducing and have also been released on Come Play With Me and Dead Young Records.
I am also currently playing guitars and synths in W.H.Lung and Electronic percussion in FWAR. Recently these bands have played festivals such as Latitude, Body and Soul, Blue Dot Festival and also a Radio 1 Maida Vale session.
Sometimes I update my blog with accounts of recent studio sessions. Click Here to check it out.
I am currently working in Chapel Works just off Meanwood Road.
Adam (Orsha, Modern Pleasure) and I set about creating a space that can cater for any sort of session while being a comfortable place for musicians to create and record. The live room is a generous size with a high ceiling and plenty of natural light. We have an ever evolving collection of microphones, guitar/bass amps, effects pedals, drum kit, keyboards and baby grand piano.
The control room has a quality collection of pre amps old and new. Plenty of headphone/monitor speaker setups that can cater to most sizes of live session.
The studio also has access to a communal kitchen and chill out area.
